Sikkim

A former Himalayan Kingdom, and now the 22nd state of the Indian Union, Sikkim is fast becoming a thriving travel destination for visitors from all over the world. Being one of the most peaceful states, with a geographical and ethnical diversity few regions can match, Sikkim now finds itself as a model tourism destination.

Altitude ranging from 900ft to 28,000 ft above sea level, there is little to compete with in terms of biodiversity, where subtropical forests give way to alpine in just a matter of a few hours. This results in a rich flora and fauna with over 500 species of orchids and 36 species of Rhododendron, all encompassed in an area measuring 7096 sq kms.!
